2007 AHS National Convention page 3 — TOUR DAYS

The 2007 AHS National Convention was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thanks to all who joined us for the convention and open garden days. It was wonderful to share the excitement with our visitors and special guests. (Photos are by Mike Lamb and Gréthe Winship unless otherwise noted.)

A special display of outstanding Curt Hanson daylilies gets a smile from Curt himself. A Garden Judges Workshop 2 group--this one led by Julie Covington (Roanoke, VA)-- focuses on the Dottie Warrell display bed. ‘Redneck Red’ (a new intro in 2006) puts on a good show, making hybridizer John Rice happy.

Fresh vegies and fruit were popular treats for the hot tour days. Stone mason Alex Semenov with his sister Valerie (at left, visiting from Russia), wife Olga, and daughter Katya. Sweet juicy clementines were enticing in an antique wooden bucket.
